Counseling and Outreach

We provide individual counseling, advocacy, and support services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as their loved ones.

We also provide educational support groups for adults and children who have been impacted by domestic violence.

We support decisions to report an assault or not, and our services are confidential.

We offer support for those who decide to get a forensic medical exam.

Counseling

Legal Advocacy

We assist survivors with injunctions, civil and criminal court hearings, and attorney referral.
We can accompany victims to hearings, and help them file for relocation and compensation when appropriate.
Sunrise and the legal team work closely with law enforcement, the State Attorney's Office and judges to prevent future violence and promote safety.

Community Education and Prevention

Sunrise offers  training to community groups on a range of topics, including the dynamics of domestic violence, bullying, and issues related to sexual violence, including sexual harassment.

Our presentations are also tailored to meet the needs of professional groups such as law enforcement, social services, medical personnel and educators.

We believe that violence is preventable, and seek to create the cultural change necessary to end interpersonal violence before it begins. The Sunrise Prevention Team works with youth, parents, educators, employers, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community partners to make a difference.

Solutions Thrift Store

Solutions Thrift Store is owned and operated by Sunrise of Pasco, Inc. with 100% of the proceeds generated by sales used to support the programs and services for adult and child victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You can help by donating your gently used items or by shopping! Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. You may drop off donations at the back dock or schedule our truck to come to your home for those larger donations.  Call us at 352-521-3000 to schedule your donation pickup.

Give Generously

There are many ways you can help end violence in our communities by helping Sunrise either financially, donating goods, or by volunteering your time. All financial donations are used to either fund programs or services or to provide a need directly to a participant.

The shelter provides everything a resident needs from toothbrushes to linens to food.  You can view our shelter Wish List, donate cash to our operations online or by check, or bring lightly used items to the Solutions Thrift Store. When items are donated directly to the store, our staff knows what to immediately direct to the shelter.

You can also give of yourself through volunteer action. Whether you'd like to help out on a regular basis, or pitch in for one-time special events, we have an opportunity for you.  Please complete a volunteer application to get started!
